Everyday use of bamboo cutlery

For the manufacture of your containers, bamboo is particularly recommended. Indeed, you will be entitled to a wide range of crockery, suitable for everyday life and fast food. Bamboo is a fast-growing plant. It is a natural resource that will not run out anytime soon and is guaranteed free of pesticides and fertilizers. It is highly appreciated for creating cutlery.

The advantages of biodegradable food packaging

To change plastic plates and plastic bags that are sources of waste and specially to adopt an environmental protection policy, biodegradable food packaging is an excellent option. Bamboo cutlery is one of them. These containers have the advantage of keeping your food without any risk to your health!

If you want to make an ecological gesture, biodegradable dishes are a "must". In fact, it knows how to adapt to all situations and manufacturers are constantly competing in design to make it even more attractive. The most commonly used natural materials are cardboard, palm, wood, bamboo, sugar cane and bioplastic. They have the advantage of being compostable and biodegradable.

In addition, you can order ecological crockery according to your needs: wooden forks, meal trays, champagne flutes, cardboard cups, boxes for sugared almonds. What is certain is that reducing the manufacture of disposable plates and thus plastic waste will do good for the planet.

How is bamboo cutlery made?

Generally, any manufacturer must first obtain the bamboo by contacting local farmers. Once the natural material arrives in the workshop, it is cut according to a pre-established pattern. Then the cutting and sanding is done. The artisanal work is solicited in a 100% ecological approach. The cutlery must be carefully made so that neither the knife, the spoon nor the fork breaks.

Afterwards, it is recommended to disinfect and rinse the bamboo cutlery and to coat it with oil to make it softer and shinier.

It is practical, accessible to all budgets and, above all, offers a wide choice of tableware. Indeed, disposable transparent plastic tableware can be found everywhere.

At picnics with friends, fast-food restaurants, company dinners... Plastic glasses, plastic plates, disposable plastic cups can be found everywhere. For take-away sales, rigid plastic trays are especially popular. Banned since January 2020 for private use, there are many alternatives in terms of packaging! All you have to do is make your choice.

How does bamboo recycling work?

Bamboo has that warm and natural look that we all look for in table decoration. It is an excellent alternative to plastic products and is 100% renewable. The plant can be harvested every 3 years without having an impact on the environment. The question that arises is how to recycle it.

Biodegradable or compostable?

First of all, a distinction must be made between biodegradable and compostable. A dishware is biodegradable when it decomposes easily when heat, moisture or micro-organisms are present. Examples include palm, cardboard, starch or even wood and bagasse. It is important to throw these types of dishes in the recycling bin after use. Some materials are also compostable as is the case with Bamboo!

You can find OK COMPOST products that should be disposed of in the compost bins. An industrial unit will take care of decomposing them. This is the case with CPLA or PLA. Other food packaging is considered Home Compost. They degrade naturally. Recycling your eco-friendly crockery is therefore a simple everyday gesture.

Preserving the environment through recycling

You will find a wide choice of disposable and biodegradable bamboo tableware. You can select the model, shape and size you need, depending on your festivities and your decor. Bamboo tableware, especially the cutlery, is made to last a long time and to serve a variety of tasty dishes, from appetizers to dessert! With this crockery, you will create a natural and authentic decor.
